Laser cleaning historic brick wall, removing soot and revealing clean masonry
WHAT WE CLEAN

Soot, growth, paint, gone without touching the stone

Our pulsed laser strips decades of buildup from brick and stone, leaving the original surface intact and ready for conservation.

Soot removal

Fire or smoke residue lifts cleanly off brick and stone. No chemical residue, no grinding, no scrubbing that wears the face down.

Biological growth

Moss, algae, and lichen are vaporized down to the base. The masonry's outer face stays intact, so regrowth has nothing to grip.

Paint stripping

Historic paint layers come off in controlled passes. You set the depth, and the laser stops at the original surface, not below it.

Graffiti removal

Tagging is erased without acids or abrasive blasting. The clean patch blends with the surrounding stone instead of standing out.

Surface preparation

Before repointing or repairs, we clean the joint faces and detail areas so mortar and sealants bond to sound, clean material.

Architects and project leads trust us

Heritage consultants recommend Ablate for brick and stone cleaning where sandblasting is too risky.

We specified Ablate for a Grade II listed facade. The laser lifted decades of soot without touching the brick's original face. Our conservation officer approved it without a single objection.

Ablate handled a sensitive brick parapet that had been painted over. The surface came back to bare brick without any etching. Our client was genuinely impressed by the detail.

We needed paint stripped from a listed stone entrance. The laser did it in-situ, with no heat and no mess. The finished surface was exactly what the conservation plan required.
